The QUALLIS (Quality of Teaching and Learning in Physical Education) digital assessment tool allows you to assess the quality of Physical Education lessons easily, quickly and reliably from different perspectives. The QUALLIS tool can be used to collect and compare feedback from students, observers and teachers. The questions for the evaluation of the lessons can be customised and an open question field allows respondents to comment anonymously on the Physical Education lessons.
The QUALLIS tool is provided by the Research Group for Physical Education at the Zurich University of Teacher Education (PHZH) and complies with Swiss and European data protection regulations. All data collected are anonymised and stored in Switzerland. The PHZH Research Group for the Didactics of Physical Activity and Sport is further developing the digital assessment tool and providing scientific support. Using the QUALLIS digital evaluation tool is scientifically sound, data protection compliant, time-saving and free of charge.
The QUALLIS tool can help you answer the following questions
• How can I evaluate my Physical Education lessons in a short period of time?
• What are the criteria that influence the quality of teaching?
• What strengths and potential do I, the pupils and the observers see in my teaching?
• What subject-specific aspects are important for the quality of teaching?
• How can I be sure that the content of the evaluation is scientifically up-to-date and well-founded?
• How can I guarantee the anonymity of respondents and the security of data in digital surveys?
You can register for free on the Evaluation Tool website.

In order to be able to assess the quality dimensions of Physical Education in an economical and criteria-based way, an evaluation method is needed that can record and compare the perception of teaching quality by students, teachers and observers. Based on the QUALLIS (Quality of Teaching and Learning in Physical Education) framework concept, the QUALLIS digital evaluation tool was developed, which enables a criteria-based, formative evaluation of the quality of Physical Education teaching (Herrmann et al., 2023).
The use of a digital evaluation tool opens up a broad field of action, which lies in the application of conceptual and empirical findings for the training and further education of teachers. In this context, an economically viable digital evaluation tool can be used in professional practice as an orientation framework for processes of professionalisation and teacher development.
